Does an advertised device count describe real router capacity?

An advertised connected-device count can help describe a product category, but it does not tell you how the router will handle your household's simultaneous work. A collection of quiet sensors creates a different demand from several large uploads and interactive calls. Group devices by the work they perform: occasional control messages, streaming, calls, gaming, backups and local transfers. Mark which tasks happen together and which must remain responsive. This is more useful than adding every device in the client list and comparing the total with a box headline.

Which details are needed for a static WAN address?

Choose static WAN addressing only when your ISP or network administrator has supplied the required configuration. Copying a working computer's private address into the router's internet page is not a substitute. The address, network mask, gateway and DNS details must belong to the intended service handoff. The WAN side connects to the upstream service. The LAN side serves your household devices. Label both clearly in the setup record so a local printer address does not end up in the internet configuration.

What should I test before moving smart devices to an IoT network?

An IoT network can make a smart-home installation easier to organize, but separation must preserve the communication the devices need. Start with a list of control paths. A device that only contacts a cloud service has different requirements from one discovered directly by a phone on the local network. For every plug, speaker or sensor, note the app or controller, the transport and the features you use. Include local discovery, scheduled actions and access away from home. Do not assume that a working cloud app proves local automations also work.

Are PPPoE, Wi-Fi and router-administration passwords interchangeable?

A router installation can involve three different passwords. The ISP credential establishes the internet service, the Wi-Fi credential lets devices join the wireless network, and the router administrator credential protects configuration changes. Reusing the wrong one produces a failure at a different stage. When a setup wizard requests PPPoE details, use the account information supplied by the ISP. Tenda's setup guide explicitly separates that step from the wireless and management configuration. A password that successfully connects your phone to Wi-Fi is not evidence that it can authenticate the internet connection.
