Can a replacement router reuse my existing Wi-Fi name and password?

Keeping the same wireless name and password can make a router replacement easier, but it does not clone the old network. The new router still has its own address plan, security settings and feature behavior. Treat automatic reconnection as a convenience to verify, not a guarantee. Save the exact network name, including capitalization, and the security mode. Record reservations, local storage paths, guest settings and any provider configuration separately. Apple recommends consistent, unique wireless naming for its devices; avoid retaining a confusing generic default name solely to save a few minutes.

Will changing router DNS affect every device?

A router DNS change can affect many household clients, but it does not prove that every application will use the chosen resolver. A device, browser or VPN may have its own policy. Define the intended result before changing the router: troubleshooting, filtering, privacy or a provider requirement. Note the router's DNS mode, the test client's network settings and any active VPN or browser secure-DNS configuration. Keep the old values so you can reverse the change. If this is a work-managed device, follow its administrator's policy rather than overriding it.

What should I compare on Tenda TE3L and TE6L Pro ports?

For these two Tenda models, the useful starting point is your wiring diagram. Both belong to the dual-band Wi-Fi 7 category, but their Ethernet arrangements differ. Count the internet connection and every wired device before deciding which model fits. Tenda lists three gigabit WAN/LAN interfaces for TE3L v1.0. The TE6L Pro specification lists one 2.5 Gbps interface and three gigabit interfaces. Confirm the exact regional hardware sold to you because the similar case design does not establish identical capabilities.

How can I choose a Wi-Fi name without identifying my household?

A Wi-Fi network name should help household members select the correct connection without revealing unnecessary personal information. Choose a neutral name that is easy to recognize and type. Do not include a full address, telephone number, personal account identifier or password in the SSID. The SSID identifies the network; the security settings and credential control access. Hiding the name is not a substitute for modern wireless protection. Apple recommends a unique network name and supported security settings rather than relying on obscurity.
